Background
Global
Evangelical Church, a vibrant Bible-believing Church, accepts the Lord
Jesus Christ as Saviour and believes in the full manifestation of the
gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.
The Church has a membership of over 100 thousand congregants, more
than 200 Ministers in active service and 675 congregations distributed
throughout the country. The Church also has branches in some foreign
countries (for example, United Kingdom, United States of America,
Norway, Cote d'Ivoire and Togo) with missionary efforts in other foreign
countries (e.g. Canada).
The Church has a Synod which serves as its ‘Parliament'. The Synod
Committee, a representative council serves as the decision-making body
of the Church. There is also an Executive made up of two clergy and two
lay persons. The clergy occupy full time positions and see to the
administration of the Church while the lay persons assist in
decision-making and the execution of specialized duties.
Statement of Faith
We affirm all the
central beliefs of the Christian faith such as the Sovereignty of God,
The Trinity, Jesus Christ and his work of salvation, The Bible as the
infallible word of God which is guide to our faith and conduct, the
fallen state of man and our redemption only through grace alone which is
given through Christ to which we must respond by faith through the
power of the Holy Spirit; the need for a personal encounter with Christ
in conversion in which one is born again, sanctification, priesthood of
all believers, the importance of Prayer, preaching, and the urgency of
mission, etc.
Mission Statement
The GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH
is primarily committed to the worship of God, the preaching of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to all and the total development of its members
worldwide. The Church will do this by strategically mobilizing and using
all physical and spiritual resources at its disposal, under the
guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Vision Statement
The GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH aims at bringing all to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and to make a holistic impact on society.
