SYNOD COMMITTEE EXECUTIVE INDUCTED

The
Synod Committee Executive (SCE) of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC)
has been inducted into office to serve for the next four years from
January 2012.
The
new Synod Committee Executive is made up of the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr.
E. K. Tettey, the Synod Clerk, Rev. P. Y. Tefe, the Male Presbyter,
Prof. R. K. Adosraku and the Female Presbyter, Prof. (Mrs.) V. P.
Dzogbefia.Rt. Rev. Dr. Tettey succeeds Very Rev. Dr. E.K. Gbordzoe, Immediate Past Moderator, who served for eight years. The induction ceremony held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science

and
Technology (KNUST) was described by many as solemn, moving and
historic. It was officiated by Very Rev. Dr. Gbordzoe, Rev. Prof. Elom
Dovlo, Immediate Past Director of Studies of the Church, and Rev. Dr.
S.K. Ofori, Immediate Past Synod Clerk.
The new Moderator, the Synod Clerk, the Male and Female Presbyters on the Executive have all served in Kumasi. Rt.
Rev. Dr. Tettey until his election as the Moderator had been a lecturer
at the Department of Publishing Studies of the Kwame Nkrumah University
of Science and Technology (KNUST). Before his election to the office of
Synod Clerk in 2007 for his first term, Rev. Tefe, who is now in his
second

term
on the SCE, was Pastor of the Anloga-Kumasi congregation of the Global
Evangelical Church. Prof. Adosraku and Prof. (Mrs.) Dzogbefia are
currently lecturers at the Departments of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and
Biochemistry respectively of KNUST.
Congratulating the Executive in his fraternal greetings, the Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Prof. William Otoo Ellis, said
he was certain the Global Evangelical Church had elected a “formidable
team made up of individuals with proven administrative, intellectual and
spiritual capabilities.” “This University and its Christian fraternity are therefore proud of having the

privilege
of seeing these illustrious sons and daughter of this institution and
of the Lord attain such greatness,” he said, urging the Executive to
look up to Christ as their guide.
The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) in its fraternal greetings signed by Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi, General Secretary of the Council, on
behalf of the National Executive Council, lauded Rt. Rev. Dr. Tettey
for his selfless service to the Church and his transformational
leadership in society. The Council prayed for multiplication and growth
in his administration, calling on GEC to make its presence in the
Council felt strongly. There
were goodwill messages from the Children, Youth, Women and Men
Ministries as well as from the foreign branches of the Church, who
congratulated the team and pledged their support for the new
administration of the Church.TheChildren Ministry was grateful to the Lord for how far He has brought the Church.“The
Ministry…believes that with your administrative and organizational
skills coupled with the grace and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, you
will propel this great Church and the Ministry to a higher level in the
next four (4) years,” it said.The Youth Ministry urged the Executive to work assiduously to lift the image of the Church from its current state to another level. “May
the Bible be your guide in everything that you do. We admonish you to
be strong and courageous. Meditate on the word of God day and night…then
you will be successful,” the message read.The Women Ministry said they saw the election of the Executive as divine, “for
it is the Lord who ordains leaders. We pray the Good Lord will grant
you the Wisdom of Solomon in the discharge of your duties.” The Men Ministrylooked
forward to seeing ‘tremendous impartation’ upon the lives of the
Executive, asking God to be the lifter up of their heads. “It is our
prayer that the Lord directs your paths, and you will not lack….Together
we will help to create a Church of God’s heart in Jesus’ name,” the Ministry said.The UK branch believed
the Church has made major strides, and was confident the Lord would
grant the leadership wisdom to move the Church to a higher dimension. “May the Holy Spirit guide you as you embark on moderating the affairs of our great Church,”they said. Welcoming the new Executive on board, the Church in Norway believed the new “Moderator
and his able executives have been strategically elected by the Lord to
carry on the vision, especially in the area of aggressive international
evangelism and Church planting in the Diaspora.”From New York, USA, the
Church prayed that “the Holy Spirit through whom all things are
possible” directs, guides and leads “us to greater heights in the Lord,”
calling on the entire Church to lend “the needed support that can move the Church to a higher level of grace.”
